Terms of service

Last updated: 1 November 2026

The short version

These terms apply to merchants who install the Contrio app (“you”) and to Contrio, operated by Manthan Deshmane, India (“Contrio”, “we”, “us”). By installing or using Contrio, you agree to these terms. Shoppers who use Contrio on your store also agree to your store’s own terms and policies.

What Contrio does

Contrio adds a group gifting feature to your Shopify store. It creates a payment link for each friend’s share, tracks payments, places the final gift order in your store when the gift is fully paid, and refunds payments when a gift doesn’t complete by its deadline.

Payments

Your responsibilities

Fees

Contrio is free during the beta. If we introduce pricing, we’ll tell you in advance and any charges will be billed through Shopify, only after you approve them.

Acceptable use

Don’t use Contrio for anything illegal, fraudulent or harmful, or to collect money for anything other than buying products from your store. We may suspend access if Contrio is being misused.

Beta

Contrio is in beta. We work hard to keep it reliable, but features may change and occasional issues may happen. Please tell us about any problem at [email protected] and we’ll help fix it.

Liability

Contrio is provided “as is”. To the extent the law allows, we aren’t liable for indirect or consequential losses, such as lost profits, arising from your use of Contrio, and our total liability is limited to the fees you paid us in the twelve months before the claim (which is zero during the free beta). Nothing in these terms limits liability that can’t be limited by law.

Ending the service

You can stop using Contrio at any time by uninstalling it from your Shopify admin. Gifts that are still collecting at that time may not complete, so we recommend uninstalling when no gifts are open. We may end the service with reasonable notice.

Changes

We may update these terms. If we make important changes, we’ll update this page and let you know before they take effect.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India.
